Do I need a blue card or an exemption card?
People who work in child care services or similar employment, or who provide other regulated services in an environment where child care is being provided, must hold a blue card or an exemption card to comply with the requirements of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care Services Act 2013 (Qld).

Adult occupants of a home in which a stand alone care service is being provided can apply for a blue card/ exemption card as a volunteer. Volunteers are required to hold a blue card prior to the stand alone carer commencing their stand alone care service.
