Keeping Country Kids Safe statistics

The following tables present additional statistical information to that published in the Keeping Country Kids Safe Discussion Paper. These tables provide more detailed breakdowns of data by age, gender, type of incident and geographical distribution. When calculating an average number of deaths per year for some of the analysis, numbers were too small to enable accurate calculation of an average yearly rate of death. Rates are therefore only provided for total figures in each table. The population estimates used to calculate rates are given in Table H-J.

All the tables below relate to the 253 children whose deaths occurred in a rural area of Queensland between 1 January 2004 and 31 December 2008.
