Regulated business

Child accommodation services including homestays

A person carrying on a business needs a blue card if:

A business is not a regulated business if:

  • the business is conducted at a boarding facility, residential facility or another place other than a residential facility where a child accommodation service is provided, which is funded by the Commonwealth Government, or through the Queensland department administering the Education (General Provisions) Act 1989 (currently the Department of Education and the Arts); or
  • the child accommodation service is for less than 10 days, and on no more than 2 occassions in a year.
